Keycloak

Keycloak is an open source single-sign-on solution deployed for base use on VPSFree premises. It runs dockerized environment on a debian LXC container provided by vpsfree, and only Vega has administration access to the underlying environment. Thebys and Vega have access to the administration webui of keycloak.

The service provides a backbone for signing into vast majority of base services, notably the member portal.

You don't have to be a member to be able to create and hold a keycloak account, but you will not be able to become a member without having an account in keycloak. Creating an account will require you to verify your email.

Creating an account

To create an account in keycloak, navigate to https://sso.base48.cz and select "create account" under the login options, then fill out the form. Required fields must be filled in to proceed, the rest are optional and can be left empty. Here are the details which you can fill out:

• Username
  • a one-word Unix username, this can be your handle or nickname.
  • this field is mandatory, and you will not be able to have this changed after account creation.
• Password (/Confirm Password)
  • this field is mandatory.
• Email
  • an email address that belongs to you.
  • this field is mandatory. You will need to verify your email to finish account creation.
• First/Last name
  • Name you go by, or otherwise your preferred name. We will call you by that name and it will be used in all services at Base48.
  • This field is mandatory.
• Legal first/last name
  • If your name and the name on your legal documents don't match we encourage you to use your preferred name, but also ask you to provide your legal name as well. This may help sort out payment and legal issues. This information is only available to the members of the council and will not be used unless absolutely necessary.
  • If your name and the name on your legal documents are the same, you can leave this field empty.
