3D printing lab

Here you can find centralized place to control all printers in our farm.

I'd like to print...

The printers are available for all members to use - if you feel confident in using a printer, you can use it without asking for explicit permission. If you have questions or would like a tutorial, ask Vega, Filip or the internet.

Can I use my own filament? is the filament provided?

Both - you can bring your own filament, as well as use filament already there, please don't use filament marked with someone's name. Un-named filament left unattended will be eaten.

How much for base-provided filament?

all base filament will have a number written on the spool, the number is the cost of filament in (czech) crowns per kilogram - i.e. if you use up 150g of filament that has 400 written on the spool, you should pay 60czk. These numbers only cover the cost of filament itself, and not the electricity or the upkeep of the printers themselves, so we would appreciate a larger amount. The amount of filament used can be checked ahead of time in your slicer (bottom right of the slicing window in PrusaSlicer)

I think this printer is broken/I broke this printer...

please put up a piece of paper or tape saying it's out of service so other people don't break it more, and contact its caretaker. Thanks!

Oh noes! Rest assured we'll know when that happens thanks to monitoring, but if you can't wait for it to get fixed, you can use an sdcard or a usb thumbdrive to print from directly on the printer - all printers support fat32 formatted drives. The only exception is the qidi plus3 (vidi) that doesn't have enough free usb ports to plug in a drive - all other printers support usb/sdcard printing just fine.

I'm not a member but would like to print something...

okay! all of the above still applies, just please confirm with a member present on-site that it's fine to print and please stay at the space for the duration of the print job.

I put a print job to run and left, when I returned the print is nowhere to be found...

Check the finished print box on top of the printer rack. If it's not there, it's likely the print failed spectacularly in some way and was trashed. Sorry.
