The login is performed through [[Keycloak]]. Nextcloud will attempt to redirect you automatically, if not there will be a button for logging in with Base48 Keycloak. Account creation during first login can take up to 2 minutes, and the page will hang for a bit - that's (unfortunate but) normal. <br />

Yes. There's an enc-to-end encryption module available and all data is encrypted at rest with a key derived from your keycloak identity. While your data isn't as safe as if you hosted your own cloud, it is at least relatively safe (and much more private) compared to other cloud file storages. Admins ''may'' be able to access your data if immense amount of effort is put into compromising the system, but there's no easy way to snoop in your files.<br />

You can create a single-use password for simple login-password authentication by going to Nextcloud's Personal Settings -> Security -> Fill in the app's name on the bottom -> Create App Password. <br />

While dealing with starlink is unavoidable (at the moment), while you are physically at base (and are connected to base lan), you connect directly to nextcloud - bypassing the reverse proxy hosted on vpsfree. This allows for best performance that avoids bottlenecks like starlink, since you're sitting physically next to where your data is.</div>Vega
